Talk to dairy farmers across Kashmir today and you'll hear the same shift — homemade rations of chokar (wheat bran), maize and whatever green fodder is on hand are giving way to balanced compound feed. It isn't fashion; it's driven by results farmers see in the milk can every single day.

The standard rule of thumb is 1 kg compound feed per 2.5 liters of milk, plus 1 kg for body maintenance.
